Not only is this my favorite song off of American Thighs, but everything about the styling in this video is perfect. It reads like a Veruca Salt - American Thighs mood board; the falling leaves, faux fur jackets, virginal white clothing motif, sun, moon, stars, stalagmites and stalactites.

video killed the radio star : DOUBLE FEATURE : the get up kids/the promise ring

After seeing The Get Up Kids this weekend, I am on a nostalgic emo kick. I remember being very influenced by the way 90s/00s emo bands dressed, and to be honest I still love this look. 

I made some style boards based on my two favorite music videos from the era.

morning video: radiator hospital - our song

Radiator Hospital is Sam Cook-Parrott (and sometimes a full band). They released a full length album this year, recorded by the brilliant Kyle Gilbride of Swearin' (he also recorded the Upset album, so I might be biased). The album is called Something Wild, and this song is on it. The album version is incredible of course, but God DAMN this live performance is heartbreaking. Sam is fucking awesome. For the superfan geeks out there (like me) you can hear his wonderful voice alongside Katie Crutchfield on Waxahatchee - Peace and Quiet. I dare you to watch this video and not get choked up/fall in love with Sam. Oh! And Allison Crutchfield (also of Swearin') sings one of my fave tracks on the album, Are You Feelin' Me?
